Primary & Further Processing
In order to process hemp into its most valuable and retail ready form, further processing needs to be done. This usually consists of dehulling or cold pressing. HFA aims to achieve this via factory processing and allow other farmers to utilize our facilities in a contract processing model. Dehulling is the process of removing the outer shell, and by doing so makes the seed un viable, hence able to be sold openly. Cold pressing turns the seed into oil (a nutritionally rich source of omega fatty acids)s and husk, which is used as a readily absorbed protein. Currently farmers experience a frustrating lack of options when it comes to further processing. With many companies refusing to deal with a restricted commodity, keeping their processing in house or simply charging uncompetitive prices due to their monopoly within the market.
